What We Believe

Belief on God

  • We believe that there is but one only living, and true God who is infinite in being and perfection, a most pure spirit, invisible, without body, parts, or passions; immutable, immense, eternal, incomprehensible, almighty, most wise, most holy, most free, most absolute; working all things according to the counsel of His own immutable and most righteous will, for His own glory; most loving, gracious, merciful, long-suffering, abundant in goodness and truth, forgiving iniquity, transgression, and sin; the rewarder of them that diligently seek Him; and withal, most just, and terrible in His judgments, hating all sin, and who will by no means clear the guilty (Westminster Confession of Faith Chapter II)
  • We believe in one God existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

  • God the Father is the architect of our salvation. He has planned out our salvation in accordance to His will for the sake of his glory (Ephesians 1:3-5; Colossians 1:12-14)
  • God the Father sent the Son and the Holy Spirit (John 3:16-17)

  • We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by God, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born to the Virgin Mary.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ lived a perfect life of obedience and that that those who believe in Him, God credits as righteous.
  • We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood.
  • We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, His ascension into heaven and His present life there as High Priest and Advocate for us.

  • We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, who convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment.
  • He is the Eternal Counselor; the Spirit of Truth.
  • He is the life of the believer and He empowers the preaching and teaching of the Gospel.

  • We believe that salvation is the gift of God who brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • We believe that all who receive, by faith, the Lord Jesus Christ are born again by the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God and heirs of eternal life.
  • We believe in the manifestation of fruits of salvation that follows genuine regeneration (true believers confess sin (1 John 1:8); walk in the light (1 John 1:6-7); keep commands of God (1 John 2:3-4); love the brethren (1 John 2:9-11); affirm sound doctrine (1 John 2:20-23); and follow after holiness (1 John 4:13).

  • We believe that Sanctification is the process by which, according to the will of God, we start to conform to the image of the holy God; that it is a progressive work that lasts a lifetime; that it is begun in salvation; and that it is carried on in the hearts of believers by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, through the continual use of the appointed means: the Word of God, self-examination, self-denial, fellowship of the believers; and watchfulness and prayer.

  • Although the light of nature, and the works of creation and providence do so far manifest the goodness, wisdom, and power of God, as to leave men inexcusable in unbelief; yet they are not sufficient to give that knowledge of God, and of His will, which is necessary unto salvation. Therefore it pleased the Lord, at different times, and in divers manners, to reveal Himself, and to declare that His will unto His Church; and afterwards for the better preserving and propagating of the truth, and for the more sure establishment and comfort of the Church against the corruption of the flesh, and the malice of Satan and of the world, to commit the same wholly unto writing; which makes the Holy Scripture to be most necessary; those former ways of God's revealing His will unto His people being now ceased. (Westminster Confession of Faith Chapter I).
  • We believe that both Old and New Testaments constitute the divinely inspired word of God, that they are infallible and inerrant, and that they are true, authoritative, and sufficient for all matters of life.

  • Baptism is: The sign and seal of God’s promises to this covenant people. In baptism God promises by grace alone: to forgive our sins and give us new life (Romans 6:3-4; 1 Peter 3:21); to adopt us into the Body of Christ, the Church (1 Corinthians 12:13); to send the Holy Spirit daily to renew and cleanse us; to resurrect us to eternal life (Colossians 2:12
  • Baptism is for people who have experienced power of new life-giving work of God. Baptism does not save people, but is for people who have been saved by the great merciful power of God (Acts 2:41; Acts 8:12)

  • We believe the Church is comprised of men and women who have been called out of this world and into saving faith in Jesus Christ.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church and the one who builds it.
  • We believe that calling of every Christian is to serve the Church through the gifts that God has bestowed on each person.
  • We believe the mission of the Church is to make disciples of all nations through the preaching of Scriptures.
  • We believe the holy ordinances of the Church given by our Lord are Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
